Christmas Cookie Contest returns, set for Dec. 17

The LaGrange Daily News proudly announces a lapse of a annual Christmas Cookie Contest.
The annual eventuality was a holiday tack of a Daily News for years, and this year outlines a lapse after a three-year hiatus. Cookies might be entered in 3 categories: decorated, normal delights or children’s.
The flashy difficulty will concentration heavily on presentation, while normal delights will concentration on singular touches in normal recipes and a children’s difficulty is open to anyone age 16 and younger.
To enter, contestants should move a dozen cookies prepared from one recipe to a journal bureau during 105 Ashton St. from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Dec. 17. Cookies perceived after a deadline will not be deliberate for judging.
Entries should have a duplicate of a recipe trustworthy to a bottom of a disposable enclosure that includes contestant’s name, daytime phone series and a difficulty they are entering. Children’s entries should embody a child’s age.
Adults might enter one recipe in any of a Decorated and Traditional Delights categories. Children adult to age 16 might enter one recipe in a children’s category. Judges will select a tip cookies, with prizes awarded to any leader supposing by Bradley’s Antiques, Callaway Gardens, Carmike Cinemas, LaGrange-Troup County Chamber of Commerce, Dr. Gregory W. Childress DMD, Creative Call-Ins, Evans and Evan Moving and Storage Co., Farasha Health and Wellness Spa, Goodyear/Tire Pro, LaFayette Society for Performing Arts (LSPA), PC Screen Printing, Serendipity, Sharon J’s, Walmart, Whimzey and White Orchid.
Judging will be formed on both ambience and appearance. The decisions of a judges are final.
Judges for this year’s competition are LaGrange Mayor Jim Thornton, Troup County Sheriff James Woodruff, and longtime cookie competition organizer Sherri Brown.
Winners will be told on a day of a competition and they and their recipes will be featured in a newspaper. Daily News employees and evident family members are not eligible.
